A small mistake or a big mistake?

Notice that amongst the diatribe railed against Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi ,the sharpest pertains to his lack of intelligence.

I do not say "percieved lack of intelligence " because when accused , even his own supporters do not seemto be in any rush to deny it. ( comparatively, when he is labelled corrupt ,all and sundry they hasten to defend his unblemished character )

Balancing both their responses, one cannot but conclude that by and large, there is bipartisan majority agreement that our dear Prime Minister Abdullah simply does not possesss the mental capacity to perform satisfactorily manning on his own the the highest office in the land.

His heart may be good may concur , but his brains are definitely found wanting.
Of course this is not to say that he is an idiot as some are wont to do.
To be fair, The man has risen steadily over the years both in the civil service and political office before he ended up where he is . To indicate that some of the most intelligent men and women of our great country (Including Dr.Mahathir, who would eventually elect him ) could not have seen through such blatant shortcoming is an unteneble proposition.

There must have been merits to his ability to sustain such professional progress over the years .
It is difficult to believe that amongst the bank governors , civil servants ,judges, Media people, Chief Executive Officers , University Proffesors ,Ambassadors, cabinet ministers , district officers etc.etc etc that he would have surely came into contact during his long years within the government machinery, none noticed this man lack of any real ability or failed to raise a single word everytime he was up for another promotion.

Why if it were true , we might just be facing a problem more serious than just that one man and his unbelieveably good luck .
